Astrid Elio | She/They
Astrid was born beneath a sky ablaze with stars, their name inspired by the celestial beauty that guided their parents through the rolling hills of Thanalan. They entered the world alongside their twin brother, Altair, the two bound not just by blood but by a shared spark of curiosity and wonder.Raised in Ul’dah, they grew up surrounded by the clash of wealth and hardship, yet both found solace in the arts. Their father, a traveling minstrel, filled their home with music, while their mother, a skilled painter, captured the world’s fleeting beauty on canvas. From an early age, Astrid sought to translate the world’s emotions into melody and color. They wandered the markets and alleyways with a sketchbook in hand, inspired by the life and energy that surrounded them. Altair, ever watchful, often joined them, the two weaving quiet stories from shadow and light. When their younger sister, Aleana, was born eight years later, the twins welcomed her with open arms, becoming her guides and muses. Bright and curious, she adored them both and often became the subject of Astrid’s earliest paintings.Astrid later trained at the Phrontistery, where they learned to weave magic into music. Their songs carried warmth, lifting weary spirits and offering comfort to those who lingered at the edges of hope. Yet Ul’dah, for all its brilliance, began to feel too small. Tales of distant lands such as Ishgard’s frozen spires, Kugane’s lantern lit streets, and Sharlayan’s vast libraries filled their heart with longing, and eventually they followed that call.Their travels carried them far, but it was in Shirogane that something changed. Beneath the glow of lanterns and the quiet rhythm of the sea, Astrid met Sayo.It was a simple meeting at first, a passing moment that might have been forgotten if not for the way it lingered. They found themselves crossing paths again and again, each encounter unfolding a little more naturally than the last. Conversations came easily, drifting between music, art, and the small details of the world around them. Astrid began to play more often in those quiet evenings, letting soft melodies fill the space between words, and Sayo remained, listening.Over time, those shared moments became something steady. What began as chance meetings turned into a quiet constant, marked by familiar places, soft laughter, and the comfort of presence. Astrid found their inspiration shifting, no longer drawn only from the world at large but from those quiet evenings and the feeling of being understood without needing to search for it.Now, with brushes in hand and a harp at their side, Astrid continues to wander with a heart shaped by those moments. Their journey remains one of discovery and creation, but it is no longer restless. It carries the memory of lantern light, ocean air, and a meeting in Shirogane that changed everything.
Altair Elio | He/Him
Altair was born minutes after his twin sister, Astrid. From the beginning, the two were close, yet their paths always seemed to diverge. While Astrid was drawn to art and music, Altair was restless, full of energy and a need to act. He loved the stories their father told, not for the poetry or melodies, but for the adventures, the danger, and the fights for survival and justice.
Ul’dah was a city of contradictions, and Altair saw them all. Wealth and squalor existed side by side, and the strong often rose by stepping over the weak. He hated it. As he grew older, he trained to fight, learning from any who would teach him. Gladiators, mercenaries, and guards shaped his skills. His dream was simple: to protect people who could not protect themselves. He joined the Immortal Flames as soon as he was able, hoping to make a difference. For a time, it felt like the right choice. He believed in the cause, threw himself into every mission, and quickly rose through the ranks. But the more he saw behind the curtain, the more disillusioned he became. Orders made no sense. Superiors cared more about politics than lives. Victories felt hollow. Eventually, he walked away. He gave no grand speech and took no final mission. He left his uniform behind and disappeared.Since then, Altair has worked as a mercenary, traveling wherever the work takes him. He chooses his contracts carefully and refuses to serve anyone he does not respect. He is not a knight and does not pretend to be. But in his own way, he fights for what he believes is right.
Though he keeps his distance from Ul’dah, he stays in touch with Astrid and Aleana. His sister’s letters remind him that beauty still exists, even in a broken world. And when their paths cross, he listens to Astrid’s songs in silence, letting them speak the words he never learned how to say.
Aleana Elio | She/Her
Aleana was born into a home filled with creativity, warmth, and the constant rhythm of music and stories. As the youngest of three, she grew up looking up to her older siblings, Astrid and Altair, who were already chasing dreams of art and justice by the time she could walk. The age gap never stopped her from being close to them. If anything, it made her their shadow, always watching, always learning, always wanting to be a part of their world.Astrid taught her to see the world through beauty. Altair taught her to stand firm in what she believed. They each carried the weight of their own paths, but neither ever forgot their little sister. Letters, gifts, and quiet moments together when they passed through Ul’dah became treasured pieces of her childhood.
Aleana never felt the need to match their steps. Where Astrid’s music stirred hearts and Altair’s blade demanded justice, Aleana chose a quieter strength. She was drawn to healing not just because she could, but because she felt called to it. Helping others brought her peace. She believed in soft words, steady hands, and the strength it took to mend rather than destroy. She eventually traveled to Gridania to study conjury, with the full support of her siblings. Astrid sent sketches of places she had seen, and Altair visited when he could, always pretending not to worry, even when he did. They were scattered across the realm, but never apart in spirit.
Now, Aleana moves through the world not to chase fame or glory, but to bring light into places that have gone dim. Her presence brings calm, her magic brings comfort, and her heart carries the steady love of a family that, no matter how far they roam, always finds its way back to each other.
